Will I Reach The 6,000 Followers Goal By The End Of This Year? I’m Scared!
It seems impossible to get there
I’m just 57 followers away from reaching the 6,000 milestone.
And I’m so scared to be honest, why? I’m not publishing stories, and because of that, getting new followers almost seems challenging.
Publishing new stories = getting new followers
I want to reach 6,000 followers so I can feel better for myself telling “Yes, I did it.” But I think it’s not going to happen. At least this is what I think.
Is it okay if you don’t reach the 6,000 followers by the end of this year?
No. It’s not okay. Because I made a promise to myself and set a goal in October that no matter what, I’ll reach 6,000 followers by the end of this year. I was so confident!
Setting some sort of goal has been always a priority for me.
Whatever I do I like to set goals. Starting a new habit? Try it for 30 days. Starting a writing challenge? Start with 1,000 words per day. Going for a walk? 10,000 steps per day.
These type of goals helps me keep going in my process.
It’s my fault though, I’m almost close to the 6,000 followers but couldn’t fully reach it in terms of numbers. Although, I did my best to get there.
But if it didn’t happen and if I didn’t reach my goal, I’d feel like a loser!
October was a full-blown month for me. I almost published 30+ stories and accumulated 1,000+ followers. But November and December weren’t that good. Why?
In these two months, I didn’t publish enough stories because I was too focused on improving the new Medium Masterclass. (Lauch: 1st Jan 2024)
But do you know how I feel now?
Recently the World Cup 2023 happened, and India reached the Final. But guess what? They lost the Final to Australia. They did all the practice and hustle to get there (the final stage) but lost the final, so the Cup.
I saw how Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and the whole team were sad as well as disappointed after losing the game. But our Prime Minister, Modi was encouraging them and said something like:
“Yah ek game hai, aur game me ye sab hote rahta hai.”
I get it. It’s the same feeling, I did my best to reach the level of 6,000 followers but couldn’t successfully reach it. It’s the same feeling!
