There is no perfect answer

What does success mean to you?

For a gambler, winning a lottery in $10M cash would be a success. Why? Because once he wins it, he won’t have to gamble anymore. It does not matter whether the money makes him happy or not, winning a lottery is the definition of success for him.

For a writer who is inspired to be a best-selling author, his book becoming an international bestseller would be a success. Because now he can label that on his social media accounts and website, and proudly can call himself an “Internet best-selling author” to anyone on the street or party. That’s what success looks like for him.

For a farmer, achieving more yield (profit) than the total cost of production would be a success. If his inputs are more than what he makes at the end of the harvesting or selling, then that would be a failure for him.

For a teacher, giving all his wisdom and knowledge in regard to the best possible future for his students would be a success. He would try hard to give them the best education possible, no matter what. Becoming a role model for the student is a success for him.

For a depressed human being, overcoming depression and finding happiness would be a success. Because now he no longer has to go through that lonely period. A…
