We Need To Be Reminded More Than We Need To Be Taught
One of the best lines I have come across
The headline you just read? Alex Hormozi said that.
So in this story, I’ll go deeper into that and explain what it actually means and how we can implement it in our life and business. Ready? Great.
In the world of information abundance, it’s hard to retain every single thing you read, listen to, and watch. It’s impossible, right? The information is simply overloaded. However, the fact that it’s good to have information abundance. But what people actually lack is execution.
Most people would consume endless information about a subject, but when it’s time to execute — they step back. And that’s only one part of the equation.
The other side of the equation, on the other hand, is that you don’t actually remember everything you consume. But the opposite is true though, you almost forget 90% of the stuff you read and consume within 30 days. And that’s a serious problem if we really think about it, isn’t it?
What’s the point of reading or consuming stuff if you can’t even retain them? Really? This means you don’t just waste your time but also you waste your energy, focus, and attention. And in the end, you forget the stuff you consume. How silly is this?
Now let me rewrite the headline again: “We need to be reminded more than we need to be taught.”
Now, do you understand? You don’t need to consume new information every day in your life. You’re better off reading and repeating the same good and valuable stuff over and over again.
I strongly believe in this, and I want you to truly understand this. Just think about it, how much better your information and knowledge base would be if you simply recall the same information repeatedly? So much better, right?
And this is what you and I really want, don’t you?
So the point here is: If you read or consume any information for the first time, don’t just read it once and forget about it. Read it twice, consume it twice. Recall the information over and over again. That’s how you remember the information, and trust me, this will have a lasting impact on your life.
Repeating and reading the same valuable information over and over again will give you a 100x ROI compared to consuming new information every single day but remembering nothing after a day or so.
Tell me if this makes sense?
