This Is The Only Genuine Advice You Need To Succeed On Medium In 2024
And I need to tell you this!
The person who goes to the gym every single day regardless of how he feels always beats the person who goes to the gym when he feels like going to the gym.
Most of the time we overcomplicate simple things. But things aren’t as complicated as we tend to make them. For instance, writing on Medium.
You don’t need a perfect system. You don’t need a perfect routine. You don’t need a perfect time and place. And you don’t need the next “Viral” story to get success on Medium.
They all are kinda distractions.
You’re making a mistake, If you spend all day thinking about the next perfect system, the next perfect time and place to start writing on Medium.
Simplicity wins. The simpler your routine and systems are, the more success you have. You don’t need to overcomplicate this.
If there is one thing that matters most in your writing journey, that is:
Consistency.
Consistency beats intensity. You can’t expect to grow on Medium just by posting 20 stories in 30 days — and stop posting after that. Instead, you’re better off posting those 20 stories for the next 90 days.
No one can stop you from succeeding on Medium if you show up and post something every single day on Medium — doing it for an extended period of time.
Now, the first question you might ask…
What if I do everything wrong for the next 6 or 12 months, will I succeed? The answer is simple: It’s won’t gonna happen. Because here’s the thing…
If you post something every day (or at least per week) you’ll get to understand what’s working and what’s isn’t, so you’ll double down on the things that are working and cut the stuff that isn’t getting you the results.
The process teaches you this!
Of course, if you’re dumb, it won’t be the case. But I assume that you’re not one. So there is no chance this happening to you.
But it’s okay if something isn’t working, try something new. It’s all about trial and error. The more you try, the more grasp you have on Medium.
But you can only do this if you’re consistent enough.
Most of the time, writers, either look for shortcuts, tricks, magic, or hacks to succeed on Medium or they overthink about why they’re not getting any success on Medium.
But the fact is: None of those things matters. Because there are no hacks, tricks, or magic, also if you’re overthinking your success on Medium, it’s just the fact that you’re not getting success yet because you haven’t done it for enough time on a consistent basis.
So simple.
Have you posted quality stories for the 6 months? If yes, there you have it 1,000 followers. If you didn’t, congrats, you have 73 followers.
Lesson: so show up every day and post good stories and you’ll have the success you want on Medium. You don’t need a perfect routine or setup.
You can’t compete with the person who keeps showing up every single day.
