The Reason Why You Should Invest In Yourself To Grow On Medium In 2024
I wish someone had told me this
You, as a writer, only have two types of assets: time and money.
If someone comes and says to you: “Hey I’ve been writing on this platform for two years and along the way, I’ve found what works and what doesn’t and also have built some proven strategies that got me decent followers — can do the same for you. So if you invest a few bucks and buy my product I can teach you everything I know about this platform, are you interested?”
Tell me, what would be your instant reaction?
If you’re smart enough you’ll say nothing and just invest in whatever he asked for. Because you’re new to this platform and you want to grow.
You precisely understand that if you do it all on your own — it’ll take you literally years to learn the same thing he already has learned.
So instead, you pay money to buy his wisdom.
And by doing so, you not only decrease the learning curve and time period, but also you can start getting the results that could’ve taken 12 months.
This is how you buy someone's knowledge and experience in exchange for giving them a small fair price they ask you. (if you think it’s a good deal)
But if you’re dumb, like most people, what do you do? You’ll say “Ah, I’m not going to pay you any money, I’ll do everything on my own.” Arrogant.
And because of that the results you could’ve achieved in 90 days took you 365 days, which is a huge drawback. I’m not saying it’s bad to learn everything on your own but the reality is: “You don’t want to wait to get results, do you?”
You want to get the results as fast as possible. But sadly and paradoxically you also don’t want to spend money to gain that results. Crazy!
That’s how you lose hope.
I know it may feel like salesy and persuasive. Like why am I telling you all this thing? Hear me out: Because I want to make you realize that you might be making the mistake of “Being cheap on yourself.”
Understand.
There are only two things you have to get results and grow on Medium.
- Time
- Money
1. Time
If you don’t have money, all you can do is invest your time learning all the stuff, that someone already knows and get results slowly — but surely.
This method gets you results but can take you months or years to bring it. But since you have no option (no money) you do it conditionally.
2. Money
If you don’t have time, you invest your money into buying someone else experience, knowledge, and expertise in exchange for a few bucks.
The big-time saver.
The only thing you lose is just a few bucks, but the huge advantage is that you can get faster results and can learn all the wisdom and knowledge of the person (whose product you’re buying) in just hours or days.
And this way you also make money — fast.
If you ask me, I’ll blindly choose the second option. Because I don’t want to spend years learning and getting the results that I could get FAST by just learning from someone else.
This is one of the lessons I learned the hard way.
