Read Your Writing Out Loud
To find out your writing mistakes
I’m going to give you one editing tip that I personally use in my writing.
It’s nothing but “Reading your writing out loud.”
This one editing tip can singlehandedly improve the quality of your writing, yet most writers (even you) are too lazy to use this method.
If you edit your writing the wrong way, you waste a lot of time.
It’s so obvious to make mistakes and typos in your writing. And no matter how hard you try you can’t stop making them. This takes you more time to edit your content because there are countless hidden mistakes —ends up taking you 2x time to find the same mistake — if you’re not leveraging the “Reading out loud” Technique in your writing!
But when you read your writing out loud, the editing gets a lot easier.
When you read your writing out loud, you involve your ears and mouth. What does it do? Well, the mouth helps you find out whether the words and sentences are appropriate and flowing smoothly or not. The ears, on the other hand, listen to what you’re saying through your mouth and help you find the errors and mistakes that you’d not recognize otherwise.
