i agree stephen, but writing on personal blog can be a bit challenging for a beginner. to gain traction on personal blog could take up to months from years, on the other hand writing on public platform gives you more chances of getting viral on the platform within a weeks or months. i do believe we should all have our personal blog not for wriiting but for servicies for product and for our all the business related stuff. on top of that you can also convert your medium audience to a email subscribers. period.
