How to Impress Your Client At The First Meeting
Do This And You’ll Be Rewarded
Getting clients is easy but working with clients for a long time is — hard. We all have client work and we can’t avoid it. (except if you’re a big business guy)
Working with clients is your first step to building business around your category/domain, and I'm telling you the harsh truth — you can’t direct build a business without any previous experience. That’s where client work comes.
Let’s take an example of writing business —
How to build Writing business — A step by step guide
- Learn the skill/Craft
- Get clients/ work with others
- Get Experience
- Share your Knowledge and Experience
- Create Products, Sell your services
What poor mindset writers think
- They want clients without learning the skill
- They want to sell their product and services without having the experience and knowledge
- And want to make some scammy type of money
You see, how things work, you can’t jump or take any shortcuts (if you take it will cost you so much) working with clients or working with other people is our next step after learning the skill. Because the work that we will do with clients/others gives us experience and knowledge about the stuff we are doing.
Have you ever been struggling with getting clients? or are you facing some sorts of problems?
Making good relationships, impressing your clients with your work, or showing them the results they want are the baseline of any partnership work.
if you haven't done it before here are my top tips for those who want clients and work with them for a long-lasting time. Just apply these formulas and your will be rewarded.
So let’s dive into in —
1: Communication
The very first thing you have to master is — communication.
Without this one single element, your whole journey will be a flash-off. So in order to make and get good clients, you have to learn the communication skill, for instance — how to talk with them, what questions you have to ask, how to listen carefully to their problems and so much.
The more you learn communication the better will be your relationship with your clients. And the most important thing is they don’t care about your grammar (Grammarly stand for) they care about your work/results.
2: Tell The Truth
What does that mean?
There are so many things writers hide in front of their clients and don't want to talk about. If you are not capable of their work don't go for it.
Don't Chase Money.
Tell everything truth like, how long it will take to see the significant results, what you can do for them, what they can expect from you, who you are, what you do, and so many things.
If you lie to them work will lie to you.
If you can’t submit 1 article in 5 days Don't hesitate to it tell them — I can’t do it. Instead of fooling them, do negotiate with them and demand more time. (chances are they will give you more time — Here communication works)
3: Show Your Work
Let's suppose everything is going well, your communication skill is next level, you’re very authentic with them but what if you can’t show your work — the result they want.
If you’re not providing the result that he wants — chances are he will fire you from the work. So the most important thing is you have to prove to them that you’re the best. No one can replace you. give them the result they want.
You can’t even imagine if you prove the work that they want and show them that only YOU can do it — nobody else. Then something interesting will happen you never thought about — maybe they increase your price, give you a bonus, give you less work. (but quality)
4: Be Kind
And last but not least be kind to them, don’t be aggressive with yourself, don't forget you’re working for them, you have to grow their business(not yours)
Understand their goals, mindsets, and work that way. Tell them very kindly whatever you have to say, don't be rude, or don't be cheapy.
Period.
I know how hard is to impress your client at the very first time, it seems impossible. (but it’s not)
I’ve shared my knowledge and experience. I hope this article will help you, if you find it helpful don't forget to clap it also let me know in the comment section what you’re going through with your clients right now?
