How Many Stories Have I Written on Medium So Far?

Ever wondered how many stories I have published on Medium so far?

I’ve been writing reluctantly on this platform since 2022. In the beginning, I focused more on the quantity side, but as I grew I focused more on the quality of the stories. These days I’m barely writing anything on Medium.

I distinctly remember I had been publishing two stories a day for a very long time. But it made me realize that doing so, does nothing but just burn you out and get you exhausted.

But most of my days here went by me writing one story a day!

And I know it’s the best feeling ever. Writing one story a day was always a perfect sweet spot for me. It never bothered me. However, I no longer publish daily. Why? To be honest, I still don’t know the precise answer. I just write and publish here only when I feel like writing and publishing.

That being said,

I now have over 6,000 followers on Medium, so the question is: How many stories it took me to get there? I’ve got your answer!

300 stories!

This is going to be my 300th story on Medium.

Oh sorry, it’s not my 300th story. Actually, I’ve written more than 300 stories. If I distinctly remember I deleted probably 20–30 stories earlier this year. The reason? I had trouble with my account, and Medium told me to delete those violated stories, so I did.

So yeah, it’s more than 300 stories. But that’s not the point. The point is, you can also manage to get 6,000 or more followers without writing this ridiculous number of stories, but they must go viral to achieve it.

The second point, you might still won’t get to 6,000 followers despite writing 300 stories, if all you create is crap. So yeah, it depends from account to account and from writer to writer.

That’s also not the main point, the main point is: one should enjoy the process of writing and the writing journey because the destination has nothing. It all boils down to the journey. So yes, you gotta love it otherwise there is no point in writing stories on Medium.
