How I Made $218.85 In Just 12 Days Without Medium Partner Program

You don’t need to join MPP to make money

Up to this point, I’ve made over $1,500 on Medium without joining the Medium Partner Program.

Hearing these numbers might seem unbelievable to you. Especially when I add more and say: I’m not a freelancer. I don’t do client work. I’m also not a ghostwriter or anything.

Every penny I make on this platform is solely from my own income streams. And that’s the beauty of it.

So I couldn’t be more grateful for what I’ve done and do on this platform. I make money from what I enjoy doing. Isn’t it a beautiful thing? I guess it is.

  • I don’t have a boss
  • I don’t need to rely on clients
  • I don’t need to work for others
  • I don’t need to do 10 meetings a week

It’s the best feeling ever!

Enough talk. So how did I make this $218? All curious? I’ll show you in a minute. For now, just see the proof.

First, let me tell you how I made more than $1,500 writing on Medium without joining the Medium Partner Program.

I have 3 income streams that made it possible:

  • Consulting

But the $218 that I just made in 12 days? That’s from Ebook and Consulting. So now let’s emphasize it. Ready? Great!

1. 12 Days Ago

To be honest, I needed to do it.

FYI, this isn’t the first ebook that I created or this isn’t the first consulting that I launched. I have been doing this since 2022. However, due to some circumstances, I needed to stop it for a while.

But three weeks ago, I made a realization that I should start it again. I was thinking of refining the old ebooks and presentation slides that I’d created, which I used to sell in 2022.

But I didn’t.

I said: I’ll give the best possible value to my audience with new and fresh information. As so many things have changed on Medium. The stuff that used to work in 2022 doesn’t work in 2023.

And I believe in “As you sow so shall you rip.”

So there was no point refining the old ebook or Slide, and selling it. Instead, I created a brand new ebook that has 121 pages written in 10,000+ words. And created a new Google Slides presentation that has 60+ slides.

This clearly shows how much effort I put into creating these Assets.

And it’s paying off.

2. Audience Problem

Problem brings opportunities.

I know that there is a lot of wrong mindset and beliefs about Medium growth and writing. Seriously. So I needed to fix it.

The one myth I hear a lot is: if you want to grow on Medium you should publish your stories in publications, no other way around it.

Complete BS. It doesn’t make any sense to me.

I never published a single story in publications. And guess what? I still managed to get 5,800+ followers on Medium.

So if that was the case, I wouldn't have got these 5,800 followers. Does that make sense? I believe it does.

That’s only the one case. There are so many things people get wrong about Medium growth and writing. So I knew that I could solve these myths and problems.

And guess? What it worked!

3. Being Brutally Honest

This is what your audience loves.

If you check the story where I sell my ebook and coaching. You’ll find how honest I seem to be there. Even in the first paragraph, I’ve written a note about it.

Hear me out…

No sales tactics work if you’re not genuinely trying to solve your audience's problem. Your audience can smell you through your writing. Through your words.

So be honest and tell what’s the truth and reality.

One more, even when I give the call to action at the bottom of the story (sales page) I show my honesty and say “If you think it’s a good deal, Here you go.”

What do you understand? I’m not forcing the reader to buy my stuff. If they want — they will. And that’s what works. No fake FOMO. No fake scarcity or urgency.

And this is the reason I’m consistently getting 1–5 sales a day.

4. Make It So Affordable

Trying to make thousands of dollars with ebooks? Hard.

Let’s be honest with you: You can’t expect to make thousands of dollars selling ebooks or coaching for a few bucks. Especially if you have a small niche audience, with no email list.

But that’s OKAY.

I don’t want to rob my audience by asking $99 for an ebook or $199 for a 90-minute 1:1 coaching. Because That would be overpriced.

So what did I do? I created the best possible Asset on the market and gave it for a few bucks. Want to know the price?

$24.99 — Coaching

Right now this is the price. But don’t wonder if I increase the price a little bit. Just a little bit. Because I genuinely think it’s underpriced.

5. Prove My Competence

This is what makes you unique.

Stories help you spread your message, but proving your competence is what brings you the money. If you have no competence you won’t make any money.

And when I say competence, I specifically mean by showing that “You’re good at what you do.” For me, it’s growing and making money on Medium — doing everything differently.

Specifically:

  • Making money on Medium without Medium Partner Program.
  • Growing on Medium without publishing your stories in publications.

So if you have been following me for a while you might know that I do everything differently to grow and make money on Medium.

  • Everyone writes about multiple niches, I write about one niche.
  • Everyone publishes their stories in publications, I self-publish.
  • Everyone makes money through Medium Partner Program, I built my own income streams.
  • Everyone comments 100 times a day to get engagement on their stories, I comment 0 times.

And this is what makes me stand out from the crowd.

6. Add A Bunch Of Social Proof

It’s not about you, but about them.

The reader doesn’t care about you. They care about themselves. So doesn’t matter what results you’ve gotten for yourself — they don’t give a damn.

Here’s what you need to know…

It becomes so powerful when you bring the same results to other people that you already have gotten for yourself. This instantly makes you a credible person — so people trust you.

If you check the sales page you find that I’ve added a punch of social proof. I added my previous student's results and testimonials.

How possibly it would not work? No chance it wouldn’t work.

7. Open The Comment Section To Discuss

I showed my transparency here.

Instead of buying a new domain, hosting, and building a website for the product, I wrote the sales page on a Medium story.

However, I didn’t expect it to work out. But guess what? It worked.

The sole purpose of building the sales page on a Medium story was to keep the buying process simple, be honest, and open the discussion section via comment.

So if something happens, or if people have any questions I can solve those problems via the comment section.

One more thing, the product or offer you create has to be valuable and problem-solving. You can’t scam people writing online.

It’s been only 12 days since I got this insane result just asking people for a few bucks that can help them get the results they want. (Views and money)
