Here’s how to do it effectively
Want to grow on Medium? Of course, I do, you bloody fool. You say ;)
So let's say you want to build your dream house. YOUR DREAM HOUSE. You don’t want to outsource it, you don’t want to buy it from a real estate guy. You want to build it from head to toe in front of your eyes. Day by day. Month by month.
So you buy a nice land where you want to build your dream house. You bought everything that a house needs to be built on. You find workers and people who can do the construction work.
The construction work starts. They start digging. They start building your “Dream House” But unfortunately, unfortunately, let’s say you’ve chosen inexperienced workers who don’t know “How to build a dream house.”
They installed the 8mm rods where it needed the 12mm road. They mixed 15kgs/pounds of cement where it needed 30kg/pounds of cement. Meaning, they’re building your “Dream House” the wrong way.
But…but…after grinding and hustling for 12 months, finally your dream house is now ready. Yeyyyyy!
What happens after 12 months? You start to see patterns. You start to see cracks and holes and splits. Why? They have built your dream house the wrong way and now you’re seeing the results.
What’s the lesson here?
The same thing is true for your Medium profile. It’s your home. A dream home, if you don’t build it the “Right way” it’ll fall apart sooner or later.
Following and unfollowing a bunch of people or the follow-for-follow method is the same game. You try to build your audience as soon as possible by applying this cheap way of getting useless followers.
