Finally! I’m Changing My Content Strategy On Medium (Here’s How)

You might be thinking: “What’s wrong with Har?”
Let me explain.
I’m a guy who churns out a lot of Medium stories. I mean a lot. At a bare minimum, I publish 30 stories every month on Medium.
And I know it’s been working fine. But you know what? It takes a lot of effort and time to write and publish daily. So it’s certainly not an easy task.
But I believe that it’s important to publish more frequently to increase your growth on Medium — it becomes crucial, especially in the beginning.
So if you’re just starting on Medium — publishing one story a day can be a game changer for you. And I encourage you to go with it.
But for me? I can still go with the “One-story-a-day” approach. But here’s the problem and why I’m changing my strategy.
Since I write and publish one story a day — I barely get enough time to dig deep into the things I want to dig deep into.
For example, if I’m writing about “How to make money on Medium” I start writing by telling you how to do it (just because of the rush). Instead of telling a compelling story or giving useful examples. (which can make the story better, right?)
But because I have limited time, so I just go with what I already have written and publish it without changing anything, so the story becomes less valuable.
However, I know the story is good, and people find it helpful and valuable.
But still …I can do it better!
So the number one reason why I’m changing my content strategy is to make my stories way better. And how am I gonna do it?
By taking more time writing the story.
If I have enough time — I can change anything & everything I want to make the story better. Like changing the examples, giving better insights, and writing clearly.
That’s the goal.
I want to create more in-depth Medium stories by adding great examples, stories, and insights. And it’s only possible if I take enough time to write the story.
So the more time I have, the better the story would be.
What’s the plan then?
I’ll publish two quality Medium stories every week. Only two. I’ll publish the 1st story on Wednesday and the 2nd story on Saturday at 5:00 pm IST every week.
The plan is to (1st story):
- Brainstorm and outline— Monday
- Proofread and edit the story — Tuesday
- Finalize and schedule — Wednesday
Same for the 2nd story:
- Brainstorm and outline — Thursday
- Proofread and edit the story — Friday
- Finalize and schedule — Saturday
Sunday is for chilling and exploring.
Not to mention, I also run a newsletter: Medium Musings. This means, I also have to send two emails per week. Same day. Same time.
That’s all.
So when I’m implementing this?
From the next week.
You might know there is a famous festival in India called “Deewali/ Deepawali” from the 10th-12th of November this year. It’s one of the finest festivals that we celebrate as Indians. And I’m excited for this!
