Do you know really how Medium algorithm works?

You don’t.

No doubt there are so many “so-called writers” who can guide you to write about various topics, do clickbaits, and make your headline crispy in order to get more views.

That’s cool too.

But, I personally don’t believe in writing about various topics, it’s not going to work on Medium, until and unless you’re not doing clickbait or not doing overpromising.

On the other hand, 99% of Medium writer’s mindset is to make more money through the Medium partner program (for sure, who are eligible) by writing about 100 different topics so that they can make more money.

And if they fail to make money?

They leave the platform.

let me repeat that — They leave the platform.

It’s cool to become a top writer on 20 different topics. But who cares? if you have 20 claps in your last post.

Make sense?

The problem with audience differentiation

Assume, you have 1,000 followers, but all your followers are differentiated audiences, which means they are not niche followers. So, ultimately you have 100 or less than 100 targeted followers.

Less targeted followers, fewer views.

Period.

Who the heck I am saying all these things?

I’ve written hundreds of articles on this platform and accumulated thousands of views, so with credibility I have some grasp of Medium algorithm. Let me give you some proof so that you can trust my words.

Here are the proofs —

Did you see the results?

I’m not a “huge viral guy” But I’ve dozens of viral content. (these are only a few)

So, how do I get these types of results?

Let’s start —

How Medium algorithm works?

The Medium algorithm works based on these three factors —

  • Initial views
  • Clap
  • Comment
  1. Initial views — It’s a view that sees by your following. More views, more reach.
  2. Clap — If your initial viewers do clap on your post, then it’s a good sign for the algorithm. It indicates the algorithm that this post is valuable.
  3. Comment — If the people comment on your post then it’s a double good sign for the algorithm. The algorithm understands that the post is more valuable.

Once your post consists of all these 3 factors, then your post is about to go viral.

So, How you can trick the algorithm to get more views?

The only thing you need is “Initial engagement”

Here’s how it works —

Can you see that process?

Everything is going step by step.

Niche writing > Targeted Followers > Intial Views By Targeted Followers > Algorithm Distribution>Make More Money = Endless process.

So, What’s your next step?

Write in the core niche.

Although I can force you to do the same since this is my strategy and my experience. But my job is to show you the right path so that you can grow faster on the platform.

Also, make sure your post should be valuable, without valuable content it’s hard to get views.

Final thoughts —

It’s all about strategic work.

Also, keep in mind, this strategy only applies to social blog sites like Medium, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. It’s not going to apply to your personal blog, as they rank based on keywords.

But If you’re here, I believe you’re writing on social blog sites. If yes, then this is the strategy you have to go with.

I hope you found this post helpful and liked my perspective.

Thanks for reading:)
