Let me walk you through my secret recipes for making money on Medium

I’ve been writing on Medium for six months. But, when I started writing on this platform my main goal wasn’t to make money, but to improve my writing skill. But over time as I grew on Medium I realized that I should monetize my knowledge and skill, so I did the same.

I’m from India, where Medium partner program is not available. So I couldn’t join the program but I came up with some untapped ways to make money on Medium.

As the result, I’ve generated $604+ writing on Medium.

But first, let me tell you my methodology to make money writing on Medium. Here it is:

Organize the work → Templatize the work → Create non-obvious content → Build Trust → Attract potential customers → Make Money.

But it wouldn’t have been possible without these seven tools.

Let’s dive in:

Tool #1: Notion

Want to know why I never run out of Ideas?

If you’re not using this tool you’re missing tons of real estate. My all content ideas exist on Notion. Whenever I want to write something I don’t think much about the topic because I’ve templatized and systematized all the things in a proper structure, which helps me to write about anything under my niche, all I need to do is just choose the criteria.

Tool #2: Copyblogger

This is my all-time favorite writing website.

Actually, it’s not a tool, it’s a website cum tool that helps me to get more untapped writing topics. Copyblogger authors/writers write on various topics like writing tips, email marketing, copywriting, branding, online marketing, etc.

Tool #3: Effie

I love this tool.

Effie is a writing tool that helps you to arrange your work in one spot, it has a clean and simple interface with important features like organized writing, note taking, mind mapping (this is why I use it), and list-making.

I use this tool because they have mind mapping features, which help me to write in a flow, and which ultimately help me not to get trapped by “writer’s block”

Tool #4: Medium Enhanced stats

Thanks to this tool developer.

You only allow you to see your Medium stats in 30 days timeframe. So if you want to see all-time data, you can’t do that because Medium doesn’t have that feature. But, this extension helps you do that. With the help of this tool, you can see your all-time Medium data with a single click.

Whenever I need to say something about my overall medium stats I add my stats picture using this extension. It helps me to build trust with my audience in a certain way.

Here is what it looks like:

Gumroad is a self-publishing digital marketplace platform.

I use Gumroad to sell my ebooks and consulting service. It’s a free tool that helps you to collect payments in your PayPal or bank account directly ( if your country is eligible). I’ve made $69.96 from my free products by selling them on Gumroad.

This tool helps me to add all my links in one place in a professional way. The thing is: you can’t add 10 links in your Medium bio. But with the help of this tool, you can do that.

First, add all your links in the bio link then add your bio link URL to your Medium bio or to your Medium articles.
