1700+ views — not bad at all?

Let’s start with some basics.

In order to earn money on Medium, you need at least 100 followers first on your profile. simultaneously, you have to comply with the medium guidelines also.

One more thing you need to know about medium partner program(MPP) is, if anyone who don't know about MPP, for your kind information, This is the way in which writers earn money on the platform.

So come to the point as you know medium partner program is not available in every country yet — it's only available in a few countries. Here’s the list —

As I belong from India, where Medium partner program is not available yet.

It is sad to be said, I didn't make a single $ on medium. Seriously I made nothing on medium, and it's okay that I made nothing But. the only thing I can do is — Wait for Medium partner program in India.

But does this really matters?

Yes and No.

1st Scenario — If I Did make money from my writing it could give me the motivation to write more and more (despite that I'm writing consistently)

As I said in my previous post.

MONEY — is the biggest motivation

2nd Scenario — To be honest I can write on medium for free. (as long as I won’t feel pain in my ass) I'm not here to earn money by my writing. As I knew before I wrote a single post on Medium that MPP is not available in India and I'm not gonna make a single $$ on here, despite that I wrote and — I Will.

But, the positive side is Writing on Medium is my online resume for my clients, partners, and other people I would work with. I don't need to show them my sample post or any sample document whenever they will ask.

I can send them my medium profile link, And I do exactly the same. (seriously)

But why did I choose medium?

Yes, there are so many things that have to consider why did I choose medium only, why not LinkedIn? why not Twitter? why not quora? why not my personal blog?

Because Medium has unique and different features than other platforms. let me tell you one by one.

  • On Medium, I can write as many as words I can. But on the other platforms, you can not write. On Twitter, you can write up to 280 characters only, on the LinkedIn posts you can write up to 3000 characters only. (not talking about LinkedIn articles)
  • Medium has a distribution system that makes medium unique
  • Another great thing about medium is — its ad-free platform.
  • Medium has a monetization option (although it's not available in every country yet)
  • And so on.

Mark my words — Soon LinkedIn will be the next writing platform.

Writing on Medium enhances my writing style Because I write daily as you know I post 1 or 2 articles every single day. That is hard to do but — I Do.

The more you write the more you become better in writing.

Should you write on medium Even if you are not eligible for MPP?

Hell Yesssss…..

You definitely should write on medium, there is no doubt, change your mindset that you are writing for money, just show your work and money will follow you. There are so many things that you can do other than earning by MPP.

If you want to know more about the monetization model of medium posts, check out this, where I've shown everything about MPP alternatives.

Period.

That’s it guys, I hope you enjoyed the post and find it helpful. If yes, then share it with other fellow writers, and don't forget to connect me on LinkedIn.
